These graphic novels, all based on the various works of Joss Whedon, are compilations of the comics related to the series. Some were even written by the man himself. The Serenity book takes place between the series and the movie. Some of the Buffy novels take place between the original movie and the start of the series, while others occur during the course of the series and elaborate on scenes long-time viewers are already familiar with. Buffy: The Long Way Home is considered to be the start of Season 8 of the show which was never able to make it to TV. Finally, some are related to the various series without actually presenting any of the main characters from the shows.

Having watched all of these series from start to finish, I enjoyed each of these books. They were very well done, particularly the ones created by Whedon himself. They were entertaining, short, and easy-to-read, yet highly enjoyable. I particularly enjoyed Tales of the Slayers, as it was able to delve into the history we all knew existed but were never able to see.

I will continue to read and update this post as I complete the other books.

10 words or less: A must for any Joss Whedon fan.
