This film is based on the book by the same name. It is a story of woman who is taken to a castle by her boyfriend and is initiated into S&M, sexual slavery, etc. The film shows her progress through this “bootcamp”, her life afterward back in society, and what she then submits to while still maintaining her outward appearances.

This film is a French film of the 1970's, and it definitely shows. There was lots of nakedness, including full frontal and graphic sex scenes, even though they were obviously simulated. This could have been a porn is the sex scenes had been real. I read the book approximately 10 years ago, and it seemed to hold pretty true to the original work. It was a satisfactory movie based on the time when it was produced.
