My Best Friend is a Vampire

View Date: 6/13/09

This is a movie from circa 1986, and was one of Robert Sean Leonard's pre-Dead Poet's Society films. For being an 80's movie and seeing it over 20 years later, this movie wasn't as bad as others I've seen. I wouldn't say it stood the test of time, but it it was definitely not as bad as it could have been. That could be because it was a fun teen romance with vampires and the obligatory vampire hunters. As teh title indicates, a teen gets turned to a vampire and subsequently gets hunted a rather inept professor and his bumbling sidekick. The movie does keep true to much of the standard vampire mythology, such as adversions to garlic and the like, but also strays in other respects, including going out in daylight. Overall, this movie, although I originally picked it for starring Robert Sean Leonard, was pretty cute.

10 words or less: Not a must see, but fun.
