My Life in Ruins

This was a very cute movie starring Nia Vardalos of My Big Fat Greek Wedding. She played her typical character of a woman of Greek heritage, but this time she was living in Greece and working as a tour guide. The scenery was beautiful, with gorgeous shots of ruins, seas, shopping areas, and more. Richard Dreyfus had an excellent character as the funny guy Irv who gives sage advice, plays matchmaker, and even gets a little action himself with a fun blue pill made by Pfizer.

The story line may have been somewhat typical, with the girl getting the guy in the end and everything working out OK. There were some very funny scenes, and also some heartwrenching ones. It made me laugh and cry, sometimes at the same time. While this was a chick flick, I believe most guys would get a kick out of it too, if they could be convinced to see it.

10 words or less: See this movie for a good laugh.
