Paper Clips

View Date: 6/15/09

This was a very interesting documentary about a middle school in rural Tennessee. The middle school profiled wanted to teach their children about prejudice and accepting everyone for who they are. However, everyone in the small town is very much the same. One of the teachers came up with the idea of studying the Holocaust. This became known as the Holocaust project.

As the project got underway and the students were discussing how many people died, one student indicated that he couldn't really picture 6 million, as he had never seen it. The students proceeded to do research on the internet and discovered that paper clips were used by Norway in WWII as a Nazi resistance indicator. The students then asked if they could try to collect 6 million paper clips to represent the people who were lost. The movie then documents their collection of the paperclips, and believe me, it is a fascinating story.

This was a decently made documentary with a very touching story line. I did cry several times listening to survivor stories and the like. I would and have recommended this movie to others.

10 words or less: Very touching and moving story.
